The last several years we have made a big deal out of Halloween for our church's Trunk or Treat. Two years ago we dressed up as Dorothy & the Scarecrow from Wizard of Oz, and last year we were Jesse & Woody from ToyStory 2.
However, Trunk or Treat had gotten so big that there was no other place in the area(besides Reed Arena, where the Aggies play basketball, and that was WAY too expensive) to house our Halloween festivities.

So, that left us without anything to do this year...leave it up to my brilliant husband to come up with a fun project. He decided we needed to dress Asher up, since it was his first Halloween even in utero...so he decided on a Jack-o-Fetus.

Here' my little artist at work...

Look at his amazing attention to detail!
I was expecting him to pull out orange and black paint...
but no, he pulls out the red and yellow for the shadowing effects!!

And finally, the masterpiece!

unbelievable.....i'm so impressed. You need to put this in asher's scrapbook as his 'first halloween'...pretty cute!
Sooo when you told me he painted a pumkin on your stomach and that he went into great "Charlie detail", I had no idea that it was going to look like that. That Charlie...he's a funny one. Y'all are just too cute. Lucky Asher.
I love it!! I got to see Asher in person that night. He was precious.
And...I have to make this correction, because people have been up in arms about us not doing Trunk or Treat this year...
A man approached Butch last year and told him that he would pay whatever amount we needed to rent Reed Arena for this year's Trunk or Treat.
So, cost really was not the deciding factor. The fact that Reed Arena said...and I quote..."It doesn't matter how much money you have. We won't rent out the Arena on Halloween night" was why we made the decision not to have Trunk or Treat again.
That pretty much did it.
We also felt as a staff that Trunk or Treat had fulfilled its purpose. It got us into the schools. Now LH gets to serve and minister throughout our community all year long instead of on just one night.
Ok..
That's enough.
Just wanted to make sure we were all on the same page about why LH did not do it again this year.
Love,
The nerdy Trunk or Treat lady.
Thanks for setting us all straight, Heather!! I obviously had NO CLUE about the whole story! Thanks!
Wow, Charlie is so creative!! Little Asher looks good! Love you guys!
Yay! I'm so glad everyone gets to see it! Asher was the cutest little pumpkin I've ever seen! Yes, put the picture in Asher's DIGITAL scrapbook!
Creativity at its finest!
That is great!
