We're Home!!

Yep, we made it! Give us a bit to catch up on life and then we've got tons of blogging to do...trust me. Remember, life first...blog second. We know you'll understand. Much love and grace--Charlie

The First Trimester Vote

Ok, we, and by we I mean Kirby and the baby, have made it safely through the first trimester as of this weekend. Many of you know that Kirby and I are not finding out the gender of the baby until the birth or until we find out that we are having 2 or more. But I'm curous what we all will think along the way. Kirby and I have gone back and forth over if it will be a girl or boy. Right now, I believe we're both leaning 'girl'. So, I'd like to take a poll and see what all you think..."Boy" OR "Girl"?

Yes, we just celebrated 1 whole year!

Thanks, so much, for all of you who have congratulated us on our first year. And we really have appreciated those that have ever lifted us up in prayer. A lot has happened and we have needed the Lord's guidance through it all.

On Monday, our anniversary, Kirby and I waited until dinner to really kick off the celebration. We had reservations at Christopher's World Grille, the finest dining in College Station. Neither of us had been there before and we were both very excited. Upon being seated and reviewing the menu, we found all the descriptions to be way too fancy. Though prepared and ready to pay a little more for the meal, nothing at all sounded like it was up either of our allies. I made a joke, "Hey, it's not too late to run!" And we took the opportunity. The endless salad and breadsticks, the entree, and delicious deserts at Olive Garden were perfect!! Our theory: better to be satisfied than regretful.

Anyways we scooted out to 7F Lodge, a little bed and breakfast in Wellborn (just South of College Station), and stayed in their fairly new House of Blues Cabin. It was pretty neat and Kirby loved it. We wished we would have come earlier and spent some time just walking and relaxing together. The next morning, we went out to downtown Houston and hit up a few shops that I used to go to--Harwin Street and Taxi Taxi. There were a few other stops on the agenda, but when it came down to it Kirby and I decided we'd rather be relaxing and playing games with my family than doing any more walking.

We headed to New Caney, stopping only at Chacho's mexican food. We have to get one of these in College Station!!! Best mexican food I have ever had for just a a couple dollars more than Taco Bell--unreal.

Anyways, we went back and played some games with the Apels. All the siblings we in from school, jobs, or wherever. We had BBQ and watermelon which are 4th of July musts and then hit the greatest fireworks display in Texas--the Roman Forest city fireworks. Though it was sprinkling much of the time, it was enough to finally let Kirby experience my favorite holiday of the year.

Thanks again for all your prayers and encouragement. It's been an amazing year and only this next one can top it!!

How does 'Citrus Apel' sound?

So, supposedly, right now our baby is the size of an oversized lime. I just thought this would help you remember--especially you visual learners.

Our Beautiful New Niece

Avery and Brent now have a precious new daughter! Brynn Marie Currie was born on July 5, 2006 at 7:30PM. She is a tiny 6lbs 8oz, and 18 1/2 inches long. Baby Brynn and Mom are doing great and are now back at their home in Michigan. I will get to see my sis in about 3 weeks and can't wait to see my new niece! She's adorable! I'm proud of you, Ave, and can't wait to see you three! We love you very much. Check out the pics here
