A little over a week ago I started my 6th month of pregnancy. Last Thursday we went to Dr. Benson's office for the "official" sonogram. They did all kinds of measurements that we didn't have done at Hope. He was sleeping this time, so he was not as active and kicking around like he had been at the last two. His heartrate was the lowest we'd seen it yet, at 142 bpm, since he was sleeping.
Overall, Asher is measuring large for his due date by a few days. So, we'll see if Dr. Benson moves up my due date at the next appointment...which will be fine with me! The sooner we get to see his sweet face the better...but, honestly, I mean does it really even matter for first time mom's if my due date is moved up a few days? I will probably be late anyway, right?
He's getting to be such a big boy! He weighed a whopping 1lb 2 oz and is about a foot long...we're so proud of our 1 pounder!! And when the sonographer measured his femur, it measured a few WEEKS ahead of schedule...guess he has his daddy's long legs!! We will have to post the pics from the sonogram soon, but it looks as if he has my pointy chin! It's so amazing to see that he really has mine and Charlie's genetics--that he came from us!!
Weeks 24-28 are supposed to be his most active during pregnancy. I have been feeling him move around like crazy for the last 3 weeks...and Charlie felt him kick for the first time about 2 weeks ago. Everytime he feels him moving, he looks at me and says, "Wow! There really is a BABY-a little person-in there...that's crazy!"
Asher can now kick, cry, and hiccup. (We felt him hiccuping after I ate some salsa today at lunch...poor thing.) Most loud noises and when I laugh really hard make him very still. Hopefully, he will get used to these soon...it makes me feel bad, as if I'm scaring him.
This whole pregnancy is making me more and more in awe of our Awesome Creator...how could anyone not believe in creation? Our bodies are WAY too amazing to have evolved, so fully functional, on their own.
