We Buy Ugly Houses

The rejection of the first house ended up being such a blessing...we are buying a house 5 houses down from that first one that we put an offer on.

Get this: this home is a little bit bigger, is on the same size lot (just under 1/2 an acre--this is the thing we loved about the first home), has one more toilet than the other one (which makes Charlie very happy), beautiful refinished hardwood floors, and is $35,000 less!

Our ugly duckling definitely needs some work, but we are so excited about our little fixer-upper...we love to do this kind of stuff! And with my husband-the brilliant artist, ex-architect, and handy-dandy carpenter-pretty much anything is possible.

The sellers accepted our contract last week, the inspection went really well yesterday, and we close August 1st! With a lot of paint and a few updates this home is going to be perfect for us. So, if any of you like to paint let me know-we close a week after my surgery, so we'll take all the painting and moving help that we can get!

We're still playing with color options but look at what my husband did with just a few minutes in Photoshop. A little paint plus one amazing man can completely transform a house!

What an awesome house and a great yard with so many trees for Asher to climb one day.

What surgery?

I love it.

I love the red front door. That is my favorite part.

We can't wait to see it when it has the Apels touch.

So glad you found a house and don't have to make a move into a rent house again. The bad part is that you're losing some really good neighbors! I know they are going to miss ya'll. I would love to help paint. Just tell me when.

Heather, I know! It is our favorite so far..of course that's where we got the inspiration! Ummm...womenly surgery--complications with birthing Asher...Rusty knows all about it, Jenn!

Dena, as if you are not the busiest lady ever! That's the only reason why I am so sad to leave...we will never have neighbors like this again...unless we can force some others out around us!

You know we will be there to pack, paint (even though its my least favorite thing in the world I would do it for you!), whatever you need us for NEIGHBOR..we're there! I'm going to cry when you leave..seriously. We could never ask for better neighbors. You need to ask your new neighbors if they can move out so we can buy their house.
LOVE YOU!!!

Kirby & Charlie,

Wow! This is really a gem. It has such potential. I love the lot that it is on and all of the trees. You will love hardwood floors too!

I know that after you two get done with this, it will be a precious house.

I totally love the color choices that you put on the exterior. Red doors are my favorite.

I can't wait to see it. Home remodeling is super exciting. We are in the process ourselves. If we get any good deals on stuff I will let you know.

I hear that ebay is great for lots of things like fixtures and lighting accessories. I will let you know what I find out.

Love you!
